Joe Wojcik a.k.a. Joe the Biker is the protector of and advocate for students who are being bullied. He sets out on his motorcycle cruiser to put a stop to bullying in schools throughout the United States by delivering educational programs targeting a variety of audiences.
Joe the Biker, called Yubbie as a child, is a crusader against bullying! He’s big, strong and tuff with a bald head and huge white horseshoe mustache. His blue eyes can get as fierce as his deep voice when he sees someone being hurt. But his heart is gentle and his goal – to help. Many people misunderstand him when they look at him dressed in his black leathers with wrap around glasses and skullcap. Because he looks different, most think he’s a bad biker, mean and tough. The funny part is that he only looks that way. He is still the kind, gentle Yubbie who was targeted by bullies when he was young and he is armed – with caring!
Joe the Biker’s powerful performances resonate with multiple audiences as he delivers messages of hope and possibility. He shares profound insights, perspectives and education through seminars and keynote speaking engagements.
Bullies nicknamed Joe the Biker Yubbie when he was a youth because he was different. He was overweight. The name-calling was just a part of the bullying, and the pain he experienced had an impact on him even as he grew through his teens to adulthood. Joe’s life journey drew him into substance abuse as a young man. A debilitating automobile accident in his early thirties became a life-altering experience. Joe persevered through a seventeen year healing process that included a physical, psychological and spiritual transformation.
Today Joe the Biker holds a black belt in a martial art called Han Pul. His hobbies include guitar, mountain climbing, scuba diving, lobster diving, tattoos, motorcycles, weight lifting, cycling, golf and creating music.
Drawing upon his experiences, Joe the Biker addresses bullying and its long-term effects. He shares tools to help; the power of parental nurturing, overcoming adversity, and fulfilling purpose. His messages are delivered with an exuberance that can only be found in someone who has learned to live life to the fullest.
A foster parent to more than 100 teens over a 14-year period, Joe is dedicated to the welfare of young people.
He serves as Executive Director of the Yubbie Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to putting Joe the Biker Performances, Programs and books into schools at little cost to the school.
Joe is the author of Call Me Yubbie (January 2010), Yubbie: The Fall and Rise of an Everyday Joe (October 2008) and the creator of a workbook series and DVD presentation for schools, teachers, parents, and children called Say NO To Bullying Today. Joe has begun a nationwide movement promoting the Say NO To Bullying Today program.
He holds a strong conviction that each child has the right to:
- a good education
- feel safe in their schools
- be protected from the malicious and destructive forces of bullying
