Get Involved

Sirdeaner Walker, the mother of 11 year old Carl Joseph Walker who took his life two years after the start of being bullied embraced me after our two-hour Channel 22 In-Focus segment on bullying. She asked me if there was anything else she could have done to prevent Carl from taking his (own) life.

Since she knew I had contemplated taking my life when I was young due to bullying, I tried to explain his mind-set. I told her that there wasn’t much more she could have done because when a victim finds himself at the point of self-destruction it is a very lonely place to be. One can’t even tell those they love about it for the fear they might not understand and so you lock them out of your world. As we both cried and hugged, she told me she was happy I did not make that decision some 50 plus years ago because I have an important purpose to serve – to help kids deal with this insidious poison.

As Joe the Biker, I have dedicated my life to be a protector of and advocate for students. I use my love of motorcycles to gain the attention of students in order to put a stop to bullying in schools throughout the United States by delivering educational programs and material targeting a variety of audiences, including students, teachers, administrators and parents. Help me, Joe the Biker help one child today – get involved. It takes a community to change a culture and everyone can contribute to making a difference with Joe the Biker.
